Picasso Inspired TP Guy! November 15 2013
Today is America Recycles Day which inspired us to create a craft from recycled materials!
We also used the artist Picasso as our inspiration! Picasso was a leader in the creation of a new form of art called Cubism. A Cubist uses their imagination to break an object down into shapes, and then put them back together in a new fun way. Here is an example of one of Picasso’s faces.
Now onto our craft!
GATHER YOUR SUPPLIES
- TWO TOILET PAPER ROLLS
- PAINT, MARKERS, CRAYONS, OR PENCILS
NOW MAKE A SINGLE CUT ACROSS ONE OF THE ROLLS SO YOU CAN LAY IT FLAT. THEN DRAW 2 EYES, A MOUTH, A NOSE, AN EAR, 2 LEGS AND 2 ARMS ON YOUR SHEET OF CARDBOARD.
THEN CUT OUT YOUR PARTS. CREATE TABS ON THE NOSE, EAR, LEGS AND ARMS. (THIS MAKES GLUING EASY)
FOLD THE TAB YOU CREATED AND PUT GLUE ON IT.
THEN ATTACH THE NOSE TO YOUR OTHER TP ROLL!
NOW ATTACH ALL THE OTHER PIECES YOU MADE IN THE SAME WAY! BE CREATIVE. (THEY DONT NEED TO LOOK LIKE A REAL FACE) THEY CAN GO WHEREVER YOU WANT THEM TO!
NOW PUT THE FINISHING TOUCHES ON YOUR CHARACTER!
SHARE YOUR TP ART WITH US HERE!
