Futile Devices August 03 2015

Made as a series of six 5 second shorts, artist and animator, Nicolas Menard (click his name to go to his portfolio site) created these quirky, and cool animations!

Notice how simple shapes and colors can be used to make interesting art.

Nicolas Menard has big name clients such as the New York Times, Google Play, The California Sunday Magazine, Urbania, Bell Média, XL Recordings, ARTV & la Cinémathèque Québécoise. He is a French Canandian man living in London. He does these fun animations full time. To make art full time is difficult, but he is extremely good.

With this animation he made graphic, abstract shapes make sounds of things in real life. This concept can be applied to a lot of objects. What if a toy train made a real train sound? What if a cat honked instead of meowed? Can you make a video to show us different sound effects to objects that normally make another sound? Share with us on facebook or on instagram!
